Duckhorn Vineyards was founded in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn, who released their first vintage two years later with just 800 cases each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Sauvignon Blanc joined the lineup in 1982, and the variety has remained a cornerstone of the estate's portfolio ever since. Now marking fifty years in Napa Valley, the winery continues to draw fruit from its own vineyards and from select growers across California's North Coast, pairing that original founding vision with continually refined winemaking.

This bottling blends 87 percent Sauvignon Blanc with 13 percent Sémillon, sourced from estate and partner vineyards throughout the North Coast. The 2025 growing season opened with a wet winter that supported strong root development, followed by an average budbreak in early April. A warm stretch gave way to cooling temperatures in July, encouraging early flavor development, while an above-average crop allowed grapes to be picked at lower sugar levels ahead of October rains. Fermentation and aging took place in both stainless steel and French oak, and the wine was finished under screwcap at 14.1 percent alcohol.

The glass opens with pineapple guava and dragonfruit, joined by lemon meringue and key lime blossom. A silky, generous palate carries layers of citrus and tropical fruit, lifted by bright acidity through a long, precise finish. Serve alongside grilled shrimp skewers, a citrus-dressed herb salad, or fresh goat cheese.
