From the most famous name in the Rhône. The Guigal family has been crafting benchmark wines in Ampuis since 1946, and their Côtes du Rhône Blanc is a standout for one simple reason: Viognier. While most white Côtes du Rhône lean on Grenache Blanc, Guigal builds this one around the great grape of Condrieu, rounded out with Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc and a splash of Grenache Blanc.

Fermented cool and raised in stainless steel to keep it fresh and pure, it opens with white flowers, acacia, apricot and white peach, then delivers a rich, fruity palate with real body and a clean, crisp finish. A total crowd-pleaser and a terrific value. Pair with roast chicken, shellfish, grilled fish or a spicy Thai curry.

89 Points
"A plush, broad style, with salty undertones to its warm melon and glazed peach flavors, offset by smoky mineral, bitter herbs and snappy, verbena-edged acidity. Packs a lot of wine into a friendly, compact frame. Delicious. Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Grenache Blanc. Drink now."
