2025 Gurrieri - Sicilia Frappato Vittoria DOC (750ml)

Giovanni and Angela Gurrieri farm organically near Chiaramonte Gulfi in south-eastern Sicily, continuing a family tradition that began with father Vincenzo and mother Graziella. Frappato is Vittoria's aromatic, lighter red grape, most famous as the softening partner to Nero d'Avola in Sicily's only DOCG, Cerasuolo di Vittoria, but it stands beautifully on its own here. Expect a brilliant mid-red color with floral and berry aromatics, pomegranate and red cherry fruit, and hints of spice and tea leaf, carried by fine, gently drying tannins and fresh acidity. A versatile, food-friendly red best served slightly chilled, equally good with grilled fish, roast chicken, or a wide range of pasta dishes.
