2025 Pardevalles - Albarin Blanco (750ml)
A rare grape brought back from the brink. Albarín Blanco is native to southern León and had nearly vanished before Pardevalles helped revive it. The Alonso family has grown and made wine in Valdevimbre for generations, and founded the winery in 1949. They’re a driving force behind the Tierra de León DO and its native grapes, Albarín and the red Prieto Picudo. Their vines sit high, 750 to 820 meters, on poor, rocky alluvial soils in a continental climate, which keeps the wines bright and fresh.
Picked at night, cold macerated for 48 hours and fermented cool in stainless steel, the 2025 is pale straw with fresh herbs, citrus and white fruit on the nose, plus earthy, mineral notes. Lively and crisp with great acidity, finishing smooth with a savory, herbal edge. Think Albariño fans looking for something new. Pair with seafood paella, grilled fish, shellfish or fresh goat cheese.
