Domaine Philippe Girard has been rooted in Savigny-lès-Beaune since the sixteenth century, with the same family tending vines across fourteen communes in the Côte de Beaune for five generations. Today the estate farms 22 hectares, split roughly 60% red and 40% white, and is certified High Environmental Value, reflecting a long-standing philosophy that prioritizes honest terroir expression over heavy cellar intervention.

Les Enseignères sits on clay-limestone soil at the edge of the Puligny-Montrachet village, a site where Chardonnay tends to show real richness and depth. The grapes are fully destemmed, pressed, and left to settle before fermenting in vats for eight to ten days, then aged eight to ten months in oak barrels with about 20% new wood, a light touch meant to support rather than mask the terroir.

The wine shows a bright, luminous gold color, with a nose that opens on hawthorn, marzipan, toasted almond, and white peach, backed by a fine chalky minerality. On the palate it's ample and generous, with a velvety texture and well-integrated acidity that balances the natural richness of the Chardonnay, finishing with notes of butter and fresh brioche. It pairs beautifully with sole in beurre blanc, veal in cream sauce, or lobster.
