Alma del Jaguar Blanco Tequila 750ml
Alma del Jaguar was founded by spirits entrepreneur McCauley Williams, inspired by his uncle Rick Williams, a wildlife photographer who moved to Mexico in the 1990s to study wild jaguars and later co-founded the Northern Jaguar Project. That conservation mission still drives the brand today, with proceeds supporting efforts to protect the world's northernmost wild jaguar population in Sonora, Mexico. Production is handled at the Vivanco family's fifth-generation NOM 1414 distillery in Arandas, in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco.
This blanco is made from 100% hand harvested blue Weber agave, using only agave, water, and yeast, with no additives of any kind. Like the rest of the Alma del Jaguar range, it is a proprietary blend of two separate distillates, roughly 80 percent fermented with natural wild yeast and 20 percent with Champagne yeast imported from France. The tequila is bottled unfiltered by hand at the source, a choice meant to preserve the natural oils and fuller texture that filtration would otherwise strip away.
The result is bright and layered. Cooked agave opens the nose alongside orange zest, honey, cucumber, sea salt, and cracked pepper. On the palate, citrus and floral notes lead into pineapple, clove, honeydew, and bell pepper, with a touch of brine running underneath. The finish stays crisp and peppery, closing with orange, grapefruit, sea salt, and a mineral edge that lingers.
