Bardstown Origin Series 6 yr Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey 750ml

Bardstown Bourbon Company opened its state-of-the-art distillery in the heart of bourbon country with the goal of producing whiskey for both its own labels and a wide network of other brands as a collaborative production partner. The Origin Series marked a milestone for the company, representing the first releases made entirely from its own in-house distillate rather than sourced whiskey, and this rye stands as Bardstown's first fully home-distilled expression in that style, offering full transparency on mash bill, source, and age right on the label.

This rye starts from a classic 95 percent rye, 5 percent malted barley recipe, the same ratio popularized by MGP, but Bardstown puts its own signature on the process through secondary barreling. After six years of maturation in American white oak, the whiskey is rebarreled for up to six months in a custom-built cask featuring alternating staves of toasted oak and cherry wood, a technique designed to layer in fruit-driven complexity without overwhelming the rye's natural spice.

The nose offers nougat and marzipan alongside aged oak, leather, and rye spice. On the palate, dried fig and Bing cherry meet baking chocolate and charred oak, with a rich, round mouthfeel that carries real depth. The finish is warm and lingering, closing on soft cinnamon and toasted wood.
