Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey 1.75L

Bulleit Bourbon traces its origins to Tom Bulleit, who left a law career in 1987 to revive a family recipe inspired by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit, a Louisville tavern keeper who distilled a similarly high-rye whiskey in the 1830s before vanishing on a trip to New Orleans in 1860. Seagram acquired the brand in 1997, and Diageo took ownership when it purchased Seagram in 2000. After years of contract distilling, Diageo opened a dedicated Bulleit distillery in Shelbyville, Kentucky, in 2017.

Bulleit stands out for its unusually high rye content, with a mashbill of sixty-eight percent corn, twenty-eight percent rye, and four percent malted barley, a nod to the family's original recipe. The whiskey ages roughly six to eight years in charred American oak barrels, drawing on Kentucky's limestone-filtered water, before bottling at 90 proof.

The nose carries real spice, with clove and black pepper balanced by vanilla, honey, and dark chocolate over toasted oak. The palate opens thick and buttery, with cinnamon and clove notes that build and linger. The finish closes with hints of straw, vanilla, and cocoa.
