Codigo 1530 Blanco Rosa Tequila 750ml
Código 1530 traces its identity to a private tequila recipe kept within one artisan family in Amatitán for generations before becoming a commercial brand. Every expression comes from a single NOM distillery in the Los Bajos region of Jalisco, bottled at the source with no added chemicals, sweeteners, flavoring, or coloring. The brand's bottles are notable in their own right, hand blown with suspended air bubbles in the glass and stamped with a Jerusalen cross, a nod to the older, less automated era of glassmaking the founders wanted to evoke.
Rosa begins as the same unrested blanco used across the line, made from 100% Weber Blue agave harvested at peak ripeness. Rather than being bottled immediately, it spends one month resting in uncharred French white oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet wine. Because the barrels are left uncharred, the wine interacts directly with the spirit, tinting it a pale rose color and pulling in fruit and floral character without adding the smoky or toasted notes that charred barrels typically contribute.
That brief wine cask rest leaves the agave character intact while layering in something new. The nose offers a white flower bouquet with cooked agave, tropical fruit, and pink peppercorn. On the palate, cherry blossom and honey meet cooked agave, rose, and mandarin orange, with toasted oak in the background, finishing crisp and bright with a lingering honeyed note.
