Código 1530 is a family owned brand founded by former Crocs CEO Ron Snyder and Federico Vaughan, with financial backing from country star George Strait, NHL veteran Brett Hull, and former NFL coach Mike Shanahan. Production takes place at Varo Destileria in Amatitán, Jalisco, under fifth generation master distiller Perez Ocampo, a region known for producing earthy, herbal leaning tequila.

The Blanco is made entirely from mature Blue Weber agave, tested for sugar content before harvest to ensure consistent quality, then cooked in a low pressure autoclave and extracted with a roller mill. The agave juice ferments for around twelve days using local bakery yeast in stainless steel tanks, then goes through two distillations in stainless pot stills. Bottling water comes from freshwater pools and rainwater filtered through the volcanic soil of the Los Bajos region, and the spirit skips barrel resting entirely, going straight from still to bottle to preserve the raw agave character.

The nose brings mint, cut grass, and fresh flowers alongside a hint of vanilla and raw agave. On the palate, cooked agave leads into earthy, vegetal notes with a mineral, saline edge and light pepper. The finish is clean and subtly sweet, with the herbaceous character carrying through to the end.
