Combier Rose Liqueur 750ml

Combier Liqueur de Rose comes from Distillerie Combier in Saumur, the Loire Valley house that Jean-Baptiste Combier established in 1834 after starting out as a confectioner making sweets, marmalade, and jam. Customer enthusiasm for the liqueurs he used to fill his candies eventually convinced him to abandon confectionery altogether and focus on liqueur production, a shift that also led the house to develop the world's first triple sec. Combier remains in operation today at its original Saumur site, one of the oldest working distilleries in the region.

This rose liqueur begins with hand-picked rose petals from the Loire Valley, gathered in the early morning to preserve their delicate aroma. The petals are steeped in neutral alcohol distilled from sugar beets for an extended maceration period before the infusion is lightly distilled and blended with a natural sugar syrup. No artificial colorings or preservatives are used, so the liqueur relies on its own rose extract for both flavor and its characteristic pale pink hue.

Combier Liqueur de Rose offers a pronounced rose blossom aroma with hints of potpourri and a faint trace of chocolate underneath. The palate is smooth and well balanced rather than overtly sweet, carrying the floral character through to a lingering finish of rose petal and light candied sweetness.
