Compass Box was founded in London in 2000 by John Glaser, and Hedonism was the company's very first release, introduced that same year as the world's first blended grain Scotch whisky. Since 2023, Hedonism has become an annual bottling, giving the whiskymaking team the chance to reinterpret its character each year using increasingly rare grain stocks. Each edition also pairs the whisky with new artwork reimagining the Hedonism Muse, and the 2026 release features a portrait by Australian artist Emma Hack.

This is the third edition in the Limited Annual Release series and the oldest recipe used in a Hedonism bottling to date. Creative Director of Whiskymaking Angela D'Orazio built the blend around a 30-year-old single grain from Strathclyde, whiskies aged 20 to 24 years from Cameronbridge and the now-closed Port Dundas distillery, and historic blended grain parcels, with some components reported as old as 31 years. For the first time, antique sherry casks join the bourbon casks in the mix, bottled at 46% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered.

The nose offers warm fruitcake, dates, and toffee alongside clove and dried fruit. On the palate, caffè latte and butterscotch lead into nougat, toasted hazelnut, and fine wood sugars, finishing long on milk chocolate. The texture remains true to house style: silky, creamy, and indulgent.
