Famous Grouse Finest Blended Whiskey 1.75L

The Famous Grouse traces its origins to Matthew Gloag, whose company was asked to supply wines for a royal banquet attended by Queen Victoria. His son William later developed a whisky blend called simply The Grouse, and Matthew's grandson refined it further before the brand was registered as The Famous Grouse in 1905. The whisky went on to become the best-selling Scotch in Scotland, a title it has held since 1980, and earned a Royal Warrant roughly eighty years after its creation. Now produced by William Grant & Sons after previously being owned by The Edrington Group, Famous Grouse Finest remains the entry point into a wider family of Grouse expressions.

The blend draws on single malts from well-regarded distilleries including Highland Park and The Macallan, combined with a substantial proportion of grain whisky, which historically has made up roughly two-thirds of the mix. The malt and grain components are sourced and blended to create a consistent, approachable house style rather than built around any single dominant flavor profile. The finished whisky is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume.

The nose is light and crisp, offering toffee apple, dried flowers, and biscuity barley. On the palate, that biscuit character continues alongside thick, creamy malt, rounded out by a touch of spice and the faintest whisper of smoke. The finish is smooth and slightly sweet, with lingering malt sweetness. It's built with mixing in mind, working especially well as a highball with ginger ale.
