Glenmorangie has distilled whisky along the Dornoch Firth in Tain, in the Scottish Highlands, since 1843, using the tallest pot stills in the country. That unusual still height allows only the lightest, most delicate vapors to reach the top, giving Glenmorangie's spirit its characteristic elegance. The Infinita, formerly known simply as the 18 Year Old, is crafted under the direction of Dr. Bill Lumsden, the distillery's longtime whisky maker celebrated for his inventive approach to cask maturation.

This expression spends fifteen years maturing in American white oak casks before roughly 30% of the whisky is transferred into Spanish Oloroso sherry casks for an additional three years. The two components are then married together, blending the bright, citrus-driven character built during the initial maturation with the richer, fruitier depth contributed by the sherry wood. The Infinita is bottled at 43% ABV, a modest step up from many of Glenmorangie's other core expressions.

The nose opens with honeyed sweetness over caramelized orange, followed by delicate jasmine and lemon blossom. As it develops, warm fig and orange marmalade emerge, joined by a soft wisp of campfire smoke. The palate carries that same layered richness, with dried apricot, toasted nuts, and a gentle oak spice leading into a long, evolving finish.

"Wander through autumn's radiant richness.

The last hours of a perfect autumn day when the world looks like a golden dream filled with cookie-coloured leaves and butterscotch skies... What would that taste like? The answer is, this dazzling, luminous whisky - a rhapsody of warm tones like purple heather, leaves swirling in the wind and hues of lemon, copper and gold.

To create it, we gather the silky, fruity spirit from our giraffe-high stills and let it steep in American oak casks. No less than 15 years later, we transfer a portion into Oloroso sherry casks for three more years. Once 18 years have passed, we reunite them to create its warm balance of sweet, floral lushness. Rich marmalade flavours brush against honey and fig, touches of caramelized orange and far-off campfire smoke. Have a taste, and let your imagination wander to the edge of an autumn afternoon.
