Godet VSOP Original Cognac 700ml
Founded in 1588 and maintained across fifteen generations, the Godet family has continuously produced and aged spirits from their historic La Rochelle estate along the Atlantic coast of France. The house derives its name from the 17th‑century stemless wooden and metal drinking cups called “godets,” a tradition formalized in 1699 when King Louis XIV granted the family a coat of arms bearing three goblets—an icon that still appears on every label today.
The VSOP Original captures this heritage through a carefully structured blend of eaux‑de‑vie matured between 4 and 9 years. Sourced entirely from the Grand Champagne, Petite Champagne, and Fins Bois crus, the combination supplies both floral delicacy and generous body. Opening with a slightly woody and aromatic nose, it quickly reveals layers of hazelnut and sweet peach jam. The palate delivers a velvety, balanced mouthfeel, transitioning into honeycomb richness, roasted nuts, and toasted brioche, before finishing with a bright lemon peel twist and gentle baking spice.
