Hubert 1924 Pear (Viljamovka) Fruit Brandy 1L
Destilerija Hubert 1924 is a family-run distillery founded in 2007 in Vojvodina, Serbia, one of the country's most fertile fruit-growing regions. The distillery farms around fifteen hectares of its own orchards, where fruit is picked by hand and brought straight to the distillery, and it has built its name on traditional rakija made from plum, quince, apricot, pear, and apple.
This viljamovka is distilled from carefully selected Williams pears, chosen with the same attention the family applies across its range. After harvest the fruit is cooled, sorted, washed, and mashed before controlled fermentation, then run through copper pot stills without a distillation column. Rather than the oak aging used for the house's plum and quince brandies, the pear spirit rests for a minimum of three years in stainless steel, a method chosen to protect the delicate pear character rather than layer it with wood.
The result is a strong, intensely aromatic brandy built around fresh Williams pear, with a smooth, warming character and a clean fruit-driven finish. Its bold aromatics make it well suited to serving both before and after a meal, whether alongside cheese or simply on its own.
