Jameson Distiller's Batch Whiskey 750ml
Jameson traces its roots to Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland, where the company's history stretches back more than 200 years to some of the earliest Jameson recipes, discovered in a handwritten mashbill from John Jameson II dated 1826 and still kept in the distillery's archive. Distiller's Batch was created by current Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman as a tribute to that origin story, reviving the Single Pot Still tradition that shaped Jameson's founding style. The release joins the Jameson Reserve Series, the brand's premium tier built around distinctive cask work and flavor-driven expressions above the standard lineup.
This whiskey follows the Single Pot Still method, Ireland's signature style, made from a mash of both malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled in copper pot stills, a technique found nowhere else in the world. Distiller's Batch is matured across five separate cask types, including ex-bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry casks, and virgin Irish, European, and American oak, a combination the distillery describes as a careful balancing act meant to layer complexity onto the whiskey without losing its characteristic smoothness. It's bottled at 46 percent ABV, or 92 proof.
The whiskey opens with toasted oak, honeycomb, and salted caramel alongside warming baking spice. From there, dark chocolate and spicy toffee emerge, joined by cinnamon, ginger, and orange peel. The mix of oak types adds a subtle smoked-wood quality and delicate tannin structure, all wrapped in the silky texture Jameson is known for.
