Johnnie Walker traces its origins to 1820, when John Walker opened a grocer's shop in Kilmarnock, Scotland, and began blending whiskies for his customers. Over the generations that followed, the Walker family and the master blenders who succeeded them built the brand into one of the world's most recognized names in Scotch, known for combining whiskies from distilleries across Scotland's distinct regions into a signature house style.

The 18 Year Old, previously known as Platinum Label before its global relaunch in 2012, is a blend of up to eighteen different malt and grain whiskies, each matured for a minimum of eighteen years. Key contributors include Cardhu, prized for its creamy smoothness, Glen Elgin, which lends a burst of sweet Speyside fruit, and Blair Athol, which brings warming spice to the blend. Master blender Jim Beveridge oversees the final selection, and the whisky is bottled at 40 percent alcohol by volume.

The nose is rich with sweet fruit, toffee, and caramel. On the palate, warming malty cereal meets creamy vanilla, rounded out by almond and tangerine. The finish is long, closing with dark chocolate, citrus peel, and a whisper of aromatic smoke.
