Jose Cuervo Reserva de La Familia Platino Tequila 750ml
Jose Cuervo traces its roots to 1758, when Don José Antonio de Cuervo received a land grant from King Ferdinand VI of Spain, making it one of the oldest continuously operating tequila producers in Mexico. The Beckmann family, longtime stewards of the brand, introduced the Reserva de la Familia line in 1995 as the house's most exclusive tier, originally reserved for family and close friends before reaching the wider market. Production takes place at La Rojeña, the historic distillery in Jalisco that anchors the Cuervo portfolio to this day.
Platino is crafted from 100% organic Blue Weber agave using the proprietary Esencia de Agave method, a technique the distillery has refined over two centuries to let the raw character of the plant shine through. With only agave, water, and yeast in the mix, this unaged, blanco-style expression skips barrel time entirely, preserving a clean, transparent spirit that showcases the agave itself. It bottles at 40% ABV, in keeping with the rest of the Reserva de la Familia range.
The nose offers honeyed agave with light pepper, a touch of apple, and delicate parsley. On the palate, sweet and spicy notes of ripe melon, honey, and hay unfold with real depth for an unaged tequila. The finish is medium in length, clean and crisp, closing with soft traces of chamomile and cinnamon. Best enjoyed neat or over ice to appreciate its layered character.
