Jose Cuervo Reserva de La Familia Reposado Tequila 750ml

Jose Cuervo traces its roots to 1795 in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, making it the oldest and most recognized name in the category. The Reserva de la Familia line was introduced in 1995 to mark the brand's two hundredth anniversary, built from a private family reserve that had previously been kept for the Cuervo family and their closest friends. Production takes place at La Rojena, one of Mexico's oldest operating distilleries and the historic home of Cuervo's premium tequilas, where ten generations of expertise continue to guide the process.

This reposado is made entirely from mature blue Weber agave grown in Jalisco's volcanic soils, using only the inner heart of hand selected piñas. Rather than resting in a single barrel type, it goes through a triple oak aging process, combining heavily toasted American oak, which contributes baked spice, with lightly toasted American and French oak that bring out softer notes of toffee and vanilla. That layered barrel program is what sets Reserva de la Familia apart from a standard reposado, giving it more structure and complexity than the minimum year of aging alone would produce.

The result is dense and aromatic, opening with warm oak, roasted agave, vanilla, and dried tropical fruit, along with a whisper of cinnamon. On the palate, cooked agave sweetness meets caramel, toasted wood, clove, and a touch of earthy spice, finishing long and warm with a final trace of black pepper.
