Château de Laubade sits on a single 260-acre block of vines in Sorbets, in the Gers, at the heart of the Bas-Armagnac appellation. Built in 1870, the estate has belonged to the Lesgourgues family since 1974, with siblings Denis, Arnaud, and Jeanne now overseeing production. Laubade is unusual for controlling every stage of the process itself, from growing its own grapes on sandy, tawny soils to distilling and aging on site, and it has become one of the most decorated houses in the category, earning the title of Spirit of the Year from La Revue des Vins de France in 2020.

This bottling blends eaux-de-vie aged a minimum of eighteen years, made from the estate's traditional grape mix of Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, Colombard, and Baco. The spirit is distilled using the region's continuous still, then matured slowly in Gascon oak casks crafted from local forests, a process that deepens both color and complexity over nearly two decades.

The result is a rich amber Armagnac layered with prune, vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa, orange peel, and toasted bread, evolving into roasted walnut and baking spice on the palate. The texture is fine and elegant, closing with a long, graceful finish suited to quiet after-dinner sipping.
