Château de Laubade has been distilling Armagnac since 1870, and the estate remains a single-vineyard property spanning 260 acres in the Bas-Armagnac region of Gascony, now guided by the third generation of the Lesgourgues family. The property is managed with sustainable practices, including natural fertilization from a resident flock of 600 sheep, and the estate operates its own cooperage to craft the oak barrels used in aging its Armagnacs.

This 21 Year Old expression is a blend of estate-grown Baco, Folle Blanche, and Colombard grapes, each variety distilled separately in traditional alembic stills to preserve its individual character before blending. The resulting eaux-de-vie age between 21 and 25 years in Gascony oak barrels, a longer maturation that pushes the spirit's ABV higher than the estate's younger expressions and lends it a richer, more textured mouthfeel closer in style to an aged whisky than to a typical brandy.

The nose opens with candied fruit, vanilla, and ripe plum, layered with butterscotch and soft spice over toasted oak. On the palate, stewed fruit and honeyed spice give way to roasted wood and a velvety texture that carries through to a long, warming finish marked by fruit preserves and gentle oak tannin. This Armagnac is best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass, allowing time for its full aromatic range to unfold.
