Chateau de Laubade Blanche Bas-Armagnac 750ml
Château de Laubade was built in 1870 in Sorbets, in the Gers, and the 105-hectare single-block estate has belonged to the Lesgourgues family for three generations. Named Spirit of the Year in 2020 by La Revue des Vins de France, Laubade has earned over 250 international accolades and remains a benchmark house across more than fifty countries, all while farming its own grapes and controlling every stage of production on site.
This Blanche is made exclusively from Folle Blanche, a variety prized for the intense aromatics it brings to eau-de-vie. Recognized under its own Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, the spirit is distilled with the same care as Laubade's aged Armagnacs but deliberately skips barrel aging, resting instead in stainless steel tanks to lock in freshness and preserve the grape's natural fruit and floral character rather than developing oak influence.
The result is intensely aromatic and clean, with notes of ripe plum and pear layered over delicate floral tones. The palate is round and well balanced, finishing soft and smooth. Best served chilled, it also makes an excellent, more characterful base for classic cocktails in place of a standard clear spirit.
