Loch Lomond distillery sits in Alexandria, Scotland, in the shadow of Ben Lomond, on a site with roots stretching back to a distillery first established in Arrochar in 1814. The present operation dates to 1965 and is known for its unusual approach to distillation, running both traditional swan neck stills and unique straight neck stills side by side, which lets the distillery produce a wide range of spirit styles from a single site, along with its own in-house cooperage.

For this expression, spirit from both still types is married together and matured for twelve years across three varieties of American oak: ex-bourbon, refill, and re-charred casks reworked at the distillery's own cooperage. The combination is intended to build layered fruit and vanilla character without the addition of sherry cask influence. It is bottled at 46% ABV and left non-chill filtered.

The nose brings ripe peach, pear, and fig alongside honeyed vanilla and a faint wisp of smoke. On the palate, orchard fruit continues with brown sugar, five-spice, and light oak, developing into a medium finish that turns gently smoky and peppery. It is a balanced, approachable single malt suited equally to unhurried sipping or mixing into a whisky highball.
