Luksusowa has been in continuous production since 1928, making it one of Poland's oldest vodka brands and, according to its producer, the world's best-selling potato vodka. Production originally began under the state-owned Polmos system before relocating to Zielona Góra in western Poland after the country's borders shifted following World War II. The brand is now owned by Pernod Ricard, and its name, meaning "luxury" in Polish, reflects the top-tier purity grade once used to classify Polish vodkas.

Luksusowa is distilled entirely from Polish potatoes, mashed and fermented before undergoing three separate distillations through copper column stills, a process that raises the raw spirit to roughly 90% ABV. This triple distillation removes fusel oils and other impurities while preserving the earthy character that defines potato-based vodka, a style that generally carries higher glycerol content and a fuller mouthfeel than grain-based alternatives. After distillation, the spirit is filtered through charcoal, diluted with pure artesian water, and bottled at 40% ABV.

The nose carries a subtly sweet, rounded aroma with a faint alkaline note, deeper and less sharp than a typical grain vodka. On the palate, Luksusowa is sweet and slightly oily, with a medium body and a crisp, mild bite along the edges of the tongue. The texture stays smooth and creamy throughout, closing on a clean, neutral finish that reflects its careful rectification.
