Luxardo Amaretto Liqueur 750ml

Luxardo is one of Italy's oldest distilling families, founded in 1821 by Girolamo Luxardo in Zara, then part of Dalmatia and now in Croatia. After the Second World War redrew Europe's borders, the family relocated the business to Torreglia in the Veneto region, where it remains headquartered and fully owned by the Luxardo family, now in its sixth generation. Best known internationally for maraschino liqueur and their signature cocktail cherries, Luxardo has built a long-standing reputation for quality and careful sourcing across its full range of liqueurs.

This amaretto is made using a paste crafted from prized almonds grown in Avola, a town in southern Sicily long regarded as producing some of the finest almonds in the Mediterranean. After distillation, the liqueur rests for eight months in large vats made of larch wood, a step that allows its flavors to mellow and deepen before bottling. The finished spirit is bottled at 24% alcohol by volume, a lighter style compared to many traditional amarettos.

Luxardo Amaretto shows a burnished copper color with golden highlights and a pronounced aroma of toasted almond and marzipan. On the palate it is lightly syrupy, offering macaroon, black tea tannins, hints of Madeira, and a touch of zesty lemon, closing with a gentle warmth and a whisper of vanilla.
