Mijenta Tequila was co-founded in 2020 by Mike Dolan, Juan Coronado, Elise Som, and Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero, one of the most respected distillers in Mexico. Produced at Casa Tequilera de Arandas in the Jalisco highlands, the brand has built its reputation on a fully carbon neutral production process and became the first tequila brand to earn B-corp certification. That commitment to sustainability extends to its packaging, which uses agave-waste paper sourced entirely within Mexico.

Mijenta Blanco is made from mature Blue Weber agave grown in the red clay soils of Arandas, prized for producing sweeter, more aromatic spirit than agave from other regions. Romero favors a slow, deliberate process over speed, selecting silky, fully ripened agave, fermenting it gradually, and distilling twice in copper pot stills with precise cuts to the heads and tails. Unlike many blancos, Mijenta is left unfiltered, a choice meant to preserve more of the spirit's natural character and depth.

The nose opens with intense cooked agave, vanilla, and caramel, layered with floral notes and ripe cantaloupe and peach. On the palate, that same rich agave carries through alongside fresh fruit, honey, and warm cinnamon, with a gentle white pepper spice underneath. The finish is generous and round, fading slowly into dry baking spice. It has enough structure to sip neat, while its floral sweetness also makes a distinctive base for a Paloma.
