Old-world pot still character from one of rum's most knowledgeable voices.

Ed Hamilton is a legendary figure in the rum world, having built his expertise sailing around the Caribbean and running the Ministry of Rum — one of the most respected rum resources in existence. True to the entire Ministry of Rum line, no sugar or other additives are used.

The Pot Still Gold showcases what happens when you let the still do the talking. Traditional pot still distillation — the same method used in the finest Cognacs and single malt Scotch — produces a rum of remarkable depth and character, retaining the natural oils, esters, and congeners that column stills strip away. The result is a richer, more complex, more texturally rewarding spirit, with the funky, fruity, full-bodied profile that serious rum lovers seek out.

Outside of Hamilton and Lemon Hart, there are precious few additive-free, cocktail-ready rums of this caliber available in the American market.  Whether sipped neat, served on the rocks, or stirred into a Tiki classic, this is a bottle that earns its place on any serious back bar — and stays there.

"Black rum distilled from fermented molasses. Aged up to five years.

A blend of light, very light and heavy pot still rums from the Worthy Park Estate where rum has been made since 1670. Colored with gold-tint sugar-based caramel, this pot still rum embodies the heavy aroma and flavor of Jamaican rum. Over-ripe bananas dominate the aroma and yield to spice, sugar cane and ripe fruit in the body. The finish is reminiscent of the aroma with ripe bananas and vegetal notes.
