Calvados Morin has roots stretching back to 1889 in La Haye de Calleville, in Normandy's Risle Valley, where Pierre Morin took over his father's modest distilling operation and grew it into one of the region's most established houses. The family later moved much of its aging into cellars carved into the chalk hillsides of the Eure valley, prized for the humid, stable conditions that suit slow maturation. Sélection sits at the entry point of the Morin range, built to showcase the fresh character of Normandy's orchards rather than heavy oak influence.

This blend draws on young eaux-de-vie from a variety of soils and apple origins across the region, rested for two to three years in sturdy Limousin oak barrels. Over that shorter aging period the spirit gradually sheds its raw heat and begins absorbing color and aroma from the wood, without taking on the deep tannin or dark hue that comes with longer maturation. The result stays closer in style to the fruit itself than to the barrel.

The nose is fine and fruity, with toasty oak notes that stay well integrated rather than dominant. On the palate it is fresh and well balanced, led by crisp apple character with a light, approachable body suited to sipping or mixing.
