Nardini is the oldest distillery in Italy, founded in 1779 when Bortolo Nardini opened a grapperia and distillery beside the Ponte Vecchio in Bassano del Grappa, a location chosen for its ready water supply and easy river access to Venice. The company remains family owned, now guided by later generations of the Nardini family, and grew into Italy's leading grappa producer while expanding into amari and aromatic liqueurs that draw on regional herbal traditions.

Virtù di Rabarbaro is built around a concentrated infusion of Chinese rhubarb root, steeped according to a recipe passed down through the distillery's long history. The maceration draws out the root's deep, earthy bitterness and its natural brown color, and the finished liqueur is bottled at nineteen percent alcohol by volume, positioning it among Italy's classic rabarbaro-style aperitivo and digestivo liqueurs.

The nose is intense and exotic, carrying oriental spice tones alongside the unmistakable botanical character of rhubarb rhizome. On the palate the liqueur is richly bitter with subtle layers beneath its assertive bite, settling into a warm, earthy finish. Served with soda and a twist of lemon peel it makes a classic Italian aperitivo, while sipped neat, or gently warmed, it functions as a traditional digestivo.
