NV Churchill's - Porto Tawny Port 30 Year Old (500ml)

Johnny Graham founded Churchill's in 1981 and named it for his wife's maiden name, making it the first British Port company established in fifty years. In a region dominated by houses dating to the 18th and 19th centuries, the newcomer built its reputation on a fresh, elegant style that balances power with finesse.

This 30 Year Old Tawny is a blend of the best Ports from many harvests, with Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinto Cão among its varieties. Grapes are hand-picked into small boxes and trodden by foot in ancient granite lagares. The wine then matures in seasoned Portuguese oak, including 600-litre barrels, where time deepens its color and complexity. The 30 in the name reflects an average age, so no vintage appears on the bottle. It is bottled at 19.5% alcohol in a 500 ml format.

A vivid amber and copper hue leads to cigar box, toffee, and cedar aromas, with dried fruit, orange peel, and floral and menthol nuances on the palate. Rich and enveloping, it finishes in a plush, velvety close. Ready to drink on release, it is best served lightly chilled.
