NV Concha y Toro - Cabernet-Merlot Frontera MAGNUM (1.5L)
Concha y Toro's story famously includes the legend of Casillero del Diablo, or the Devil's Cellar: founder Melchor Concha y Toro is said to have spread rumors that a devil haunted his wine cellar to keep thieves away from his best bottles, a tale that has stuck with the brand ever since. From its founding in 1883 in the Maipo Valley, the winery grew steadily into Latin America's leading wine producer, building a portfolio that spans everything from the ultra premium Don Melchor down to accessible, everyday labels like Frontera, all drawing on the company's roughly ten thousand hectares of vineyard across Chile.
This bottling blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown in the alluvial and colluvial soils typical of Chile's Central Valley. The Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structure and depth to the wine, while the Merlot softens the blend and adds a layer of elegance. After fermentation, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, a method chosen to keep the focus on fresh, direct fruit rather than oak influence.
Bright ruby red in the glass, this wine offers fresh aromas of black plum and vanilla. The palate is soft and approachable, with gentle tannins and a harmonious, medium bodied finish. It suits roast chicken, grilled vegetables, or a simple weeknight pizza.
