W. & J. Graham's draws its distinctive character from four historic mountain estates in the Upper Douro and Douro Superior, Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua, Quinta da Vila Velha, and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas, which together span 201 hectares farmed organically and sustainably. Master Blender Charles Symington oversees the house's aged tawnies, drawing on decades of experience to shape each blend's character.

This 20 Year Old Tawny is built primarily from Touriga Nacional alongside other traditional Douro varieties, with Symington including some notably older lots in the blend to bring out the deeper, more developed traits that come only with extended cask aging. The wine matures over decades in seasoned oak, gradually shedding its youthful color and gaining the nutty, dried fruit character that distinguishes a well aged Tawny from its younger counterparts.

The finished Port shows an amber, golden tawny hue with a bouquet of orange peel, cinnamon, prunes, and dried figs, layered with toasted almond and a touch of honey. On the palate it is rich, sweet, and velvety, its caramel and roasted nut flavors balanced by a refined finish that lingers with hints of hazelnut and burnt orange. Serve slightly chilled alongside crème brûlée or an almond tart.

93 Points
"Plump and inviting, with a burst of red and black cherry compote backed by hazelnut husk, date, green fig and baking spice notes. Generous in feel, but with the underlying zip for balance and focus. Drink now. 15,000 cases made, 4,800 cases imported."
