Krug Rosé began as an idea within the family rather than a response to trend. It was first created in 1976 by the fifth generation of the Krug family, who wanted a rosé that reflected the same blending artistry behind Grande Cuvée, recomposed anew with each release rather than following a fixed recipe. Since then, every Édition has drawn on the house's tradition of vinifying parcels separately and blending across years to build complexity that a single vintage alone could not achieve.

The 29ème Édition is built around the 2017 harvest and combines 29 individual wines spanning five vintages, from 2017 back to 2010, with reserve wines making up about a third of the final blend. Its color and structure come from small additions of traditionally macerated red Pinot Noir, drawn from named plots in Mutigny and Aÿ, folded into the white base before the wine completes its long rest in Krug's cellars.

The result is a deep salmon hue with coppery highlights, offering aromas of red fruit salad, raspberry, wild cherry, and toasted brioche. The palate is rich and layered, moving from jammy dried plum toward bright blood orange, finishing with a touch of grapefruit bitterness. Pair it with grilled quail or a peppered duck breast.

95 Points
"A beautifully balanced version, with its satiny mousse caressing the palate, while chiseled acidity defines a fine weave of macerated raspberry and peach fruit, blood orange peel, grilled nuts, white chocolate and saffron. This unfurls on the palate, offering richness and depth. Lingers on the mouthwatering finish. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged Winter 2023 to 2024 (Krug ID 124021). Drink now through 2035."
