Laurent-Perrier traces its founding to 1812 in Tours-sur-Marne, a Grand Cru village on the Marne, though it was the de Nonancourt family who shaped the house into what it is today. Marie-Louise de Nonancourt bought the struggling estate in 1939 and steered it through the war years, and her son Bernard took charge at just 28, building the house into one of Champagne's largest family-owned producers over the following decades. Bernard pioneered the use of stainless steel tanks in the 1950s and developed the house style around freshness and purity that still defines its wines. The family retains majority ownership today, now led by his daughters.

La Cuvée is a blend of more than 100 individual wines, drawing primarily on Chardonnay, which typically makes up over half the assemblage, with Pinot Noir and a smaller portion of Meunier rounding it out. Reserve wines account for up to 30% of the final cuvée, and the wine spends roughly four years aging on its lees before disgorgement, well beyond the appellation minimum.

Pale gold with fine, persistent bubbles, this Champagne offers citrus, white flowers, and ripe stone fruit, with a chalky mineral edge on the finish. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh, and lifted by lively acidity. It pairs beautifully with roast poultry, grilled sole, or a simple seafood tart.
