NV Moet & Chandon - Champagne Brut Rose Imperial (750ml)
Moët & Chandon traces its roots to 1743, when Claude Moët founded the house, and it was his grandson Jean-Rémy Moët who later created the Impérial cuvée, naming it in honor of Napoleon Bonaparte, a frequent visitor to the estate. Owned by LVMH since 1987, the house today draws on vineyards across Champagne to maintain the scale and consistency that made its Impérial range one of the most recognized Champagne styles in the world.
Rosé Impérial blends Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and a smaller share of Chardonnay, with its color coming from a portion of still red wine folded into the assemblage rather than extended skin contact alone. Reserve wines make up roughly a fifth to a third of the blend, lending consistency across releases, and the finished wine spends close to two years on the lees before a moderate dosage is added at disgorgement.
The wine pours a pink hue with amber glints, releasing aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, and cherry alongside a floral note of rose and a whisper of pepper. On the palate it is juicy and fresh, with peach and red berry flavors and a light minty lift on the finish. Try it with grilled duck breast or a berry tart.
