NV Mousse - Champagne Extra-Brut Blanc de Noirs Eugene (750ml)
Moussé Fils is a family Champagne house rooted in Cuisles, a village on the north bank of the Marne River in the Vallée de la Marne. The estate's winemaking tradition traces back to Eugène Moussé in 1923, and today it is led by Cédric Moussé, who has built a reputation for expressive, terroir-driven wines built largely around Pinot Meunier, a grape overlooked in Champagne. The house farms parcels across Cuisles, Jonquery, and Châtillon-sur-Marne.
This cuvée, named Eugène in honor of the family's founder, is composed of eighty percent Meunier and twenty percent Pinot Noir. It draws on a perpetual reserve system established in 2003, blending each new vintage with a deep library of older wines to build layers of complexity over time. Finished as an Extra Brut with minimal dosage, the wine reflects the sandy, clay-rich soils of the Marne Valley.
The wine shows a bright golden hue with aromas of ripe pear, honeycomb, fresh pastry, and candied citrus peel, layered with soft floral and spice notes. The palate is medium to full-bodied and seamless, carried by a fine, persistent mousse and finishing with a saline, mineral edge. Try it alongside smoked salmon, roast duck, or a nutty aged Gruyère.
