Founded in 1769, Maison Prunier is one of the oldest houses in Cognac, still run as an independent, family-guided operation after eleven generations. Rather than farming its own vineyards, Prunier purchases eaux-de-vie directly from growers and distillers across the region, giving its cellar masters access to the finest lots from every cru. That sourcing philosophy, paired with cellars at the historic site in the town of Cognac and in nearby Gimeux, has shaped the house's identity around the art of aging and blending rather than viticulture.

This XO Decanter blends eaux-de-vie from across Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, and Bons Bois, individually aged for fifteen to thirty years in oak barrels of varying sizes before assembly. Twice distilled in traditional copper stills, the component spirits are chosen for how they complement one another, giving the master blender room to build layered complexity rather than relying on a single cru's character.

The cognac shows a golden hue with bronze highlights and an intense, complex nose built around a fine rancio, dried fruit, nutmeg, and orange peel. The palate is supple and long, echoing those notes with fine tannins and a persistent, gently spiced finish.
