Raynal V.S.O.P. Brandy 750ml

Raynal & Cie is a French spirits house based in Jarnac, in the Cognac region, with a history stretching back to 1840 under the Pellisson name. Pellisson acquired the Raynal brand in 1975, and the combined company became part of William Grant & Sons in 2005. In the United Kingdom the brandy is sold under the name Three Barrels, though it carries the Raynal label elsewhere, and the house has built its reputation on blending rather than single-vineyard bottlings.

This VSOP blend draws on white grape eaux-de-vie sourced from several of France's classic wine regions, including Burgundy, Bordeaux, and Champagne. Because the spirit is produced outside the delimited Cognac appellation, it is labeled simply as brandy rather than Cognac, even though it is distilled and matured using comparable methods. The eaux-de-vie are aged separately in French oak casks before the house's blenders combine them, a process meant to build roundness and depth ahead of bottling at 40 percent alcohol by volume.

On the nose, Raynal VSOP opens with floral, herbal, and citrus notes alongside soft vanilla. The palate turns creamy and smooth, showing almond and walnut alongside candied fruit, caramel, and a touch of ginger spice, finishing long with a gentle warmth.
