Seagram's V.O. Whiskey 1.75L

Seagram's traces back to 1857 as the Granite Mills and Waterloo Distillery Company in Waterloo, Ontario, later taking the Seagram name when Joseph E. Seagram became sole owner around the turn of the century. V.O. itself dates to 1913, when Seagram commissioned his master blender to craft a special whisky to celebrate his son Thomas's wedding, and the result proved popular enough to become a permanent release. The original Waterloo distillery closed in 1992, and production shifted to what is now Diageo's facility in Valleyfield, Quebec, where the brand continues today.

V.O. is a blended Canadian whisky, combining more than fifty individually distilled whiskies, each aged a minimum of six years before blending. Canadian whisky production typically distills base and flavoring whiskies separately before marrying them, and V.O. follows that tradition, drawing on a wide range of component spirits to build a consistent, mellow final blend. The finished whisky is bottled at 80 proof, or 40 percent alcohol by volume.

On the nose, look for creamy vanilla, orange, and cherry alongside notes of maple and a touch of rye cereal. The palate carries caramel, black pepper, and warming spice, with cinnamon and ginger showing through in the background and a hint of charred wood lingering into the finish. It's a smooth, approachable profile built for easy sipping or mixing rather than bold intensity.
