Skinos Mastiha Liqueur 700ml

Skinos is produced at a distillery based in Athens, built around a single, singular ingredient: the resin of the mastic tree, harvested exclusively from the southern part of the Greek island of Chios. For over three thousand years, islanders have collected this aromatic sap, prized in antiquity for its medicinal properties and later distilled into the digestive spirit that inspired the modern brand. Skinos set out to modernize this ancient tradition, refining its presentation while staying true to time-honored methods, and has since become one of Greece's most recognized liqueurs internationally.

The mastiha resin used comes only from PDO-certified trees, harvested once a year through careful hand-cutting of the bark, a process that allows the sap to weep out and harden into small crystallized tears. These tears are macerated for roughly three months, then distilled in copper pot stills before resting for another three months prior to bottling, resulting in a liqueur bottled at thirty percent alcohol by volume.

The spirit offers a distinctive pine resin character layered with herbal and citrus notes, smooth and lightly sweet without being cloying. Traditionally served ice-cold as a digestif, it also shines in cocktails alongside citrus or sparkling wine. Pair it with Greek pastries, dark chocolate, or a strong coffee.
