Speymhor was established by Graham Taylor and Stuart Hendry, two veterans of the Scotch whisky trade with a combined seven decades of experience through their work with Glasgow Whisky. The label was created to showcase a curated collection of single malts, each chosen to highlight the distinct character that traditional Speyside and Highland distilling can produce, with an emphasis on balance and approachability over flash.

This expression is matured for eighteen years near the secluded glens and clear rivers of the Cairngorms, close to the banks of the River Spey. Aging takes place in traditional hogsheads that combine European and American oak, casks slightly larger than a standard barrel, which allow the spirit to develop slowly and gain richness and color over its long maturation without becoming overly woody.

The whisky pours a rich, golden amber and opens with a nose of dried fruit and warm spice. On the palate it is soft, smooth, and warming, with a mellow sweetness that reflects its extended time in oak. The finish lingers with notes of dark chocolate and late-harvest fruit, rounding out a dram built for slow, unhurried sipping.
