Tabernero Pisco Quebranta Brandy 750ml
Tabernero was founded in 1897 by the Taboada family in Peru's Chincha Valley, part of Ica province roughly two hundred kilometers south of Lima on the country's arid southern coast. The winery survived major disruption during Peru's agrarian reform era before rebuilding began in 1979, bringing new land and modernized equipment into the operation. Today Tabernero markets its pisco under the La Botija line, one of the most recognized names in Peruvian pisco, alongside a broader portfolio of Peruvian and international wine varieties.
This expression is distilled entirely from Quebranta, the most widely planted grape in Peru's pisco regions and a non-aromatic variety prized for producing a drier, more restrained style of spirit. The grapes are carefully selected before slow distillation in copper stills, a process the winery describes as blending traditional technique with modern precision. As a pisco puro, no blending with other varieties or musts is permitted, letting Quebranta's character come through on its own under Peru's denomination of origin rules.
The result is elegant and smooth, with subtle aromas of dried fruit and gentle spice built into a round, slightly fruity palate. A long, seductive finish and light vegetal undertone round out a style that stays closer to savory than sweet.
