Join us this Saturday for a complimentary wine tasting featuring six wines from Vintage 59, one of the finest import portfolios in the country. Vintage 59 was started by Mac Bev alumnus Roy Cloud, and every wine carrying his sticker on the back label has been hand selected by Roy and his team for character and balance. Presenting the portfolio is Doug Mohr, a true DC wine legend many of you will remember from the glory days of Vidalia. Stop in, taste through the range, and hear the stories behind the bottles from Doug himself.
The Lineup
🍷 2023 Benjamin Serer Vouvray "Les Trois Chênes"
A Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley, showing the variety's classic mix of orchard fruit, honeyed richness, and bright acidity. Expect notes of quince and chamomile with a textured, slightly waxy palate that finishes clean and long.
🍇 2024 Via Alpina Ribolla Gialla Collio DOC
A crisp, aromatic white from Friuli's Collio zone, with notes of green apple, white flowers, and a subtle saline edge. Light-bodied and refreshing, with zippy acidity that makes it an easy match for seafood or a warm afternoon on its own.
🥂 2022 Deovlet Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills "Sanford & Benedict"
A rich, layered Chardonnay with ripe stone fruit, citrus zest, and a creamy texture from time in barrel. Well-integrated oak adds toasty notes without overwhelming the wine's bright, mineral-driven core.
🍷 2022 Deovlet Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills "Sanford & Benedict"
A cool-climate Pinot Noir with red cherry, cranberry, and subtle earthy undertones. Silky tannins and bright acidity give it real lift, while a touch of baking spice from oak aging rounds out a long, elegant finish.
🍷 2022 Mas d'Amile "Les Clos" Terrasses du Larzac
An old-vine Carignan-based blend from the Languedoc, full of dark berry fruit, garrigue herbs, and a warm, sun-soaked character. The palate is dense but energetic, with fine tannins and a savory, spice-laced finish.
🍷 2024 Samuel Louis Smith Syrah Santa Cruz Mountains "Sandstone Terrace"
A cool-climate Syrah with dark plum, black pepper, and a distinct smoky, savory edge. Medium-to-full bodied with firm structure, it carries a floral lift on the nose and a long, peppery finish.
