Tasting with Konstantinos Georgiades
Saturday, March 21st | 1-4 pm

Argatia was founded in 2000 in the hills of Rodochori near Naoussa in northern Greece, by Panagiotis Georgiadis and Dr. Haroula Spinthiropoulou, combining deep scientific expertise with a passion for traditional Greek viticulture. It remains a small, family-run winery crafting wines that are as distinctive as they are delicious. Their focus is on native Greek grapes you won’t find just anywhere, offering a refreshing change from the usual lineup.

The star of the show here is Xinomavro—a remarkably ageworthy red variety known for its rich savory flavors of red fruits, black olive, spice, and earthy depth. If you love wines like Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo, this is one you’ll want to try. It’s complex, food-friendly, and perfect for cooler evenings. Other varieties featured in the blends include Negoska and Mavrodaphne in the red; and Malagouzia, Assyrtiko, and Athiri in the white.

What makes these wines even more special? They’re made with organically grown grapes and a hands-off approach in the cellar, letting the natural character of each vintage shine through.

We’re especially excited to welcome Konstantinos Georgiades, who will be in-store presenting the wines and sharing insights into his family’s philosophy, vineyards, and winemaking approach. It’s a rare opportunity to hear the story behind the bottle, straight from the source, so please join us Saturday afternoon for this free in-store tasting.
