2019 Herson Family - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Persuasion
2019 Herson Family Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Persuasion (750 ml)
Herson Family Vineyards is a boutique husband-and-wife project based near Washington, D.C. Named after the tools of political persuasion, Persuasion joins Influence (Chardonnay) and Access (Merlot) as a candid expression of the couple’s day-to-day careers and their passion for wine. This Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted with close, hands-on attention from Bob Foley, a Napa Valley veteran whose winemaking journey includes time at Heitz and as founding winemaker at Markham, now focusing on a select handful of projects.
Produced in tiny quantities, Persuasion draws on fruit from premier Napa Valley sites and reflects Foley’s instinct-driven approach with no shortcuts or additives. On the palate, it offers ripe dark fruit and black cherry alongside espresso, vanilla, and a hint of licorice, with a delicate lift of blackberry and green bell pepper. Silky tannins, subtle acidity, and a full-bodied texture give way to a long, satisfying finish.
This vintage presents compelling structure and depth, ideal for aging gracefully while still delivering immediate enjoyment. It pairs particularly well with bold flavors and rich textures.
