2021 Klinker Brick - Zinfandel Lodi Old Vines (750ml)
From the Felten family’s Klinker Brick Winery, this 2021 Zinfandel hails from Lodi’s historic Mokelumne River appellation. The wine draws from fifteen individual old-vine blocks ranging from forty to one hundred twenty years old, a testament to the family’s long-standing relationship with Lodi’s venerable Zinfandel sites. Planted in sandy loam soils and refreshed by Delta breezes—cool air pulled inland from the San Francisco Bay—the vines naturally yield small, intensely flavored berries. Century-old vines combined with this cool, Mediterranean-influenced climate concentrate character and structure, while barrel fermentation adds backbone to Zinfandel’s already graceful profile.
The result is a wine with rich, concentrated aromas of dark berries, coffee, and baking spice, followed by flavors of black currant, huckleberry, and coriander. Its dry, grippy finish provides true structure that stands up to hearty, flavorful foods. This vintage is bottled in a 750ml format, representing two decades of continuous production from some of Lodi’s most historic vineyard sites.
