Its origins begin with the Sangiovese Grosso, a robust and generous grape type whose attributes are expressed best with time - longer periods of aging in oak vats and refinement in bottle. Brunello di Montalcino has a distinctive intense ruby color, tending to garnet with age, and notable scents of rich fruit and spices. On the palate the taste is uniquely characteristic to Montalcino. A superb wine to accompany roasted red meats. Suggested that the bottle be opened several hours before serving.

A firm, silky red with lots of chewy tannins, as well as blueberry, blackberry and chocolate character. It's full and tight with lovely presence and intensity. Give it three or four years to soften. Better after 2023
