This is the new Romorantin, decidedly not what was generally found a generation ago (which tended to be an acid, austere wine often with oxidative notes), let alone what can be found today among the natty producers (likewise oxidative). This cuvée has a remarkable nose, akin to high-toned Riesling for some and Loire Chenin for others—a dense wine with layers of flavors reminiscent of apricots and baked apples and other autumn fruits. Bracing, lifted, long, and altogether distinctive. Vines average 35 years of age; the wine is raised in tank on its fine lees and bottled in the spring following harvest, usually before malolactic has a chance to take place

Brulières de Beychevelle's 12 hectares of vines are 5 km from Beychevelle's vineyard; being further from the Gironde estuary, they benefit from a cooler climate. Brulières' blend consists of just two grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. TREJ is Barbera, Nebbiolo and Dolcetto in equal parts.The brothers Luigi and Alfredo Grasso started in the vineyard in 1970 and continue to actively cultivate 14 hectares. The Grasso Fratelli farm is located in Valgrande in the municipality of Treiso, in the heart of the Langhe, a typical area known for the cultivation of the vines from which the best and prestigious Piedmontese wines are born. In this area, nowadays very popular also for its splendid nature, the Nebbiolo grape variety from which Barbaresco wine originates is cultivated with particular care.
