2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition Gold Medal Winner Redemption 10-Year-Old Barrel Proof Rye is an older iteration of Redemption Rye, distilled by MGP Ingredients, named Distiller of the Year in 2015. MGP's facility was built in 1847 and later acquired by the Seagram’s corporation who have developed an immense capability for whiskey production in North America. That knowledge and expertise of making great Rye & Bourbon whiskeys has been passed down through generations and thus in this exceptional whiskey. Aromas of black caramel, molasses and vanilla layered over tones of freshly cut grass and hints of ginger. On the palate spicy rye notes evolve with flavors of dark chocolate, licorice and fennel laced together with cardamom, black pepper and tarragon. The finish is lengthy, mounds of caraway seed and muddled spearmint with a peppery astringency.
